"Any church that is not seriously involved in helping fulfill the Great Commission has forfeited its biblical right to exist." Oswald J. Smith

Vision

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”   Acts 1:8 NKJV

Just as the Church was commissioned by the Lord to continuously reach out and expand their influence, beginning in Jerusalem and reaching ultimately to the ends of the world, so likewise our vision follows a similar pattern. Open Doors Church And World Outreach has a three-stage plan for reaching out through the doors of utterance God opens to us for ministry.

The Local Vision
In more recent years, the local outreaches of Open Doors Church have taken center stage as we feel a divine mandate upon us to be a light for Christ in our community. This focus involves expressing the love of God in practical ways (i.e. food shelf ministry, community involvement, etc.) as well as in developing ministries that target people's spiritual needs (see Ministries).

The Regional Vision
Beyond reaching our immediate area, we have a deep and urgent desire to impact the State of Vermont for the glory of God. In addition to our Living Bread broadcast, which airs on various public access stations throughout much of the State, we also have a long-term vision of seeing extension churches planted all across Vermont.

The International Vision
Missions has always been a primary value for our church, and God has been gracious to open a number of doors, enabling us to touch the nations for Christ (see International Outreach). Our vision is to continue to increase our involvement in spreading the gospel to the nations through every available means: missions support, mission trips, media ministry, publications and even international church planting.
